As part of the RoofArt guttering system, our selection of steel downpipes is designed to work with the steel gutters and hopper heads we carry.
A RoofArt downpipe has a useful life expectancy in excess of sixty years, which means that once fitted for a given project, you can be confident the replacement will be someone else’s responsibility. Only metal guttering systems have this kind of life expectancy, while uPVC and other systems need replacing far more often.
Steel downpipes are therefore a more cost-effective solution for the long term.
Painted and Galvanised Steel Downpipes
In addition to their durability, our downpipes are protected against corrosion. You can order your downpipes (and the rest of your steel guttering system) painted with one of a selection of colours of GreenCoat bi-renewable paint or as simple galvanised steel downpipes. The plain galvanised steel downpipes we supply are coated with a zinc magnesium coating for long-term protection against corrosion.
Choosing Your Steel Downpipes
It’s important to fit the right size of downpipe for your project’s drainage needs. If you’re not sure what the right size would be for your project, feel free to contact us on 0330 912 2288; our team have decades of combined experience and whatever problem you may be facing, we’ve almost certainly seen something like it before.
We’d be more than happy to lend you our support and expertise. After all, if replacing your downpipes is something that happens only once or twice in a lifetime, it’s all the more important to get it right first time! If your expected drainage requirements (or your existing system) are best served by 125mm steel gutters, we recommend you use the 87mm downpipes as they’re both part of the Scandic 125/87 Rainwater System. By contrast, 150mm steel gutters better suit the 100mm downpipes.
Installing Your Steel Downpipes
RoofArt products are designed to make installation as straightforward as possible, especially if you’re experienced. However, they also supply both full instructions and access to a detailed video so that people new to installing steel guttering can pick it up quickly no matter how they learn best.
And, of course, if you have any other issues, give us a call – our team will be more than happy to help you!
